Registration with EHRB for the Accredited Certificate in IPPC

A number of courses for 2014 have been arranged at our Sussex offices. However please contact us if you wish to discuss holding a course in your local area.

MCAL regrets to advise that our Accreditation with CIEH has expired. We do have the option to renew the Accreditation but this will be subjet to a large one-off payment which we are concerned would force an increase in course costs to the delegate.

MCAL is therefore considering its accreditation options and will advise of our decisions as soon as possible. In the meantime we can no longer offer the Accreditation aspect of the course and no further exams will be offered.

Verification of Data from Continuous and Periodic Regulatory
Stack Emission Monitoring and On Site Audit Training

The Environment Agency (EA) recently contracted Mudway Health, Safety and Environment to produce two courses for its IPPC inspectors to enable them to audit data returns provided by operators of regulated installations and to audit the monitoring undertaken on site. The courses were designed as two separate days and day 1 covers office based assessment of data returns, day 2 deals with site visits to check on suitability of data obtained from continuous analysers, witness audits of monitoring contractors and audits of monitoring contractors' quality management systems.

These two days are designed for experienced officers and as such are not suitable for those new to EPR work.

Accredited Course in Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control

Since the introduction in July 2007 of the Accreditation of Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Course, the course has proved very successful, with over 170 delegates registering for the Certification and approximately 70 successful delegates undertaking the exams to date.

The Certificate process is subject to registration with EHRB. Fee's for this are currently 110GBP (increasing to GBP120 from January 2012) and are administered through MCAL.

The course consists of 5 classroom days - 3 days Introduction to EPR, 1 day Advanced EPR and 1 day Monitoring for EPR. Those wishing to achieve the Accreditation must attend the Introduction module first* but the other days are designed to be taken at the delegates convenience. On completion of all the classroom modules, delegates should undertake a series of inspections and submit a covering report related to those inspections, and the resulting actions/papers. The papers will be reviewed by independent assessors who will then interview the delegate and award the Accreditation if appropriate. Further information on the submission and interview requirements can be found on the Exam Details page or print exam information.

*Exemptions are in place for experienced officers.
